// What it is

A cyberdeck in a browser tab

A collectible creature game, a turn-based battler and a shared city, in one page that opens in seconds. The Constructs, their numbers and their models are the real VERLANIS ones.

01

Collect

Tear open a foil pack every hour. Every Construct is its own copy, with a tier from E to S, a role, a signal and a routine of its own.

02

Battle

Teams of three, simultaneous turns. Read the enemy's next move, break its wind-up, bring down a boss's barrier, or duel another player with a crowd watching.

03

Live

Walk a neon high street with everybody online. Chat, dance, trade face to face, shop, and stop to watch a duel in the street.

04

Build

Dress your character, furnish a flat and build floors onto it, open a shop in it, ride a mount, and step through a portal into another world.

// The Constructs

Programs with a pulse

Over a hundred of them: glass insects, chrome flowers, jellyfish made of light, daemons, a lava lamp with opinions. Seven roles, four series, and a signature routine each.

The Cyberdex

    Foil Construct cards bursting out of an opened pack

    // Packs

    Rip it open

    A pack arrives every hour and waits on your shelf, five at most. Swipe across the foil to cut it: the wrapper crinkles under your finger, the halves peel apart, and your cards come out.

    • 3 + 2Constructs and salvage rigs in every pack
    • E → Ssix tiers, shown in stars; S shines in the rainbow
    • Foilfaces for the rarest cards of every line
    • Keepor sell each card before it goes in your deck
    Two rows of holographic Construct cards

    // Ripdoc

    Splice the odds

    Take two Constructs to the Ripdoc, a back-alley clinic on the service lane. Recombine them or ascend one, and the splice is a measured risk: upgrade, hold or downgrade, by the pair's tiers, how well they match, and their DNA. Now and then a new colourway comes out, or a routine neither of them knew.

    // Battle

    Both sides choose. Then it happens.

    Turns are simultaneous: you pick, they pick, and the engine resolves both at once by speed. No waiting for somebody else's animation, and no reading their answer first.

    See it coming

    Every solo fight shows the enemy's next move under its plate, and it plays exactly that. A heavy blow winds up a turn ahead: stun it, stagger it, silence it, or brace.

    Bosses with a barrier

    The boss node's lead fights in phases, each one stronger, with its barrier back every time. Break the barrier and the boss shatters: it loses its next action.

    VERLANIS ROOT

    A Protocol Run up a ladder of nodes: EASY, MEDIUM, HARD, ULTIMATE and NETRUNNER, each rung a mind that thinks one more kind of thought. Daily and weekly boards, trophies, titles.

    Duels with a crowd

    Challenge anybody on the street. Both of you walk into the stadium while your Constructs fight, and up to ten people can step in to watch.

    Booster cards

    Sixteen of them. Arm one with your next move to boost your Construct or degrade theirs: overclock chips, patch kits, barrier cells, hardlight guards.

    Signals and roles

    Seven roles, from Striker to Guardian to Trickster, and signals that beat each other. Damage persists: a Construct knocked OFFLINE sits out until the Cyberdoc restarts it.

    // The City

    Everybody you see is playing

    A night-time high street of animated signs, terraces of apartment blocks and a plaza, shared by everybody online. Walk it, sprint it, ride through it.

    • 15shop doors that open, thirteen businesses, and Izzy's Arcade over two storeys
    • 44emotes, dances and idles, seen by everybody
    • Tradeface to face on the trading floor, and browse every open shop on the auction house
    • 10watchers can step into any duel being fought in the street
    Inside Izzy's Arcade: neon strips, arcade cabinets, a prize counter and a mezzanine
    Izzy's Arcade classic, versus, rhythm, a lounge, and a room nobody signs
    The high street from above: neon signs, towers and the lit gate at its end
    The high street every sign on it an animated screen

    Chat is heard where it is said: a line spoken in a shop stays in that shop. Under-18 accounts play everything with chat switched off.

    // Make it yours

    A body, a wardrobe, a flat

    Pick a body and a build, then spend your credits at the counters on the street. The flat you start in is yours to paint, furnish and build on.

    122garments at the clothes rail
    40armour sets, mixed part by part
    200+accessories in colourways you choose
    20hairstyles in fifteen colours
    300+pieces of furniture, from capsule chairs to arcade cabinets
    58lights: neon, lasers, disco tiles, holograms
    15apartment blocks, and floors you can build on
    70graffiti pieces across the city's walls

    Stock a vending machine and your flat becomes a shop: other players find it on the auction house and walk in.

    // Travel

    Ten worlds through a door marked lobotomy unlikely

    The travel office on the high street has ten portals, each one a biodome: alpine, cloud, crystal, desert, forest, ocean, retro, sakura, sunset, tropical. Any of their skies can hang over your flat.

    Two players riding neon hoverboards down the high street, a fox-tailed Construct beside them

    30 mounts

    Hover chairs, hoverboards, a shopping cart, a flying city. Each one unlocked by its own achievement, then bought at LUX, and ridden through the street for everybody to see.
